Mansfield Property Closed After Persistent ASB and Criminal Activity

Mansfield District Council has obtained a full closure order on a property in Chadburn Road following evidence of persistent anti-social behaviour, nuisance, disorder and criminal activity.
The property was closed by the council working alongside Nottinghamshire Police after concerns showed that activity linked to the address was having a serious negative impact on the local community.
The closure order prevents people from entering the property and allows enforcement agencies to take further action against those responsible for breaching the order. Further investigation involving the occupants is also continuing.
Strong action after repeated problems
Councillor Anne Callaghan, Mansfield District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, said the closure order demonstrated the council’s determination to take firm action where serious anti-social behaviour and criminal activity are affecting local communities.
She also recognised the stress and disruption that this type of behaviour can cause to residents and said the council is prepared to work with partner organisations to investigate concerns, take enforcement action and support people affected.
Why residents’ reports matter
One of the most important messages from this case is the role played by local residents.
The council thanked residents for reporting problems and providing information, and encouraged anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour or concerned about criminal activity in their area to continue reporting it.
Each report can help authorities build a clearer picture of what is happening.
A single incident may appear isolated. Repeated reports, reference numbers, dates and supporting information can help show a wider pattern and may become important when authorities are considering what action is available.
Keep records when reporting ASB
Residents experiencing ongoing anti-social behaviour should consider keeping a simple record of what is happening.
Useful information can include:
dates and times of incidents;
a short description of what happened;
police or council reference numbers;
emails and written responses;
photographs, video or other lawfully obtained evidence where appropriate;
information about how the behaviour is affecting residents.
The purpose is not to confront those responsible or place yourself at risk. It is to create a clear and organised record that can support reports to the appropriate authorities.
Part of wider enforcement action in Mansfield
The Chadburn Road case follows two other successful closure orders obtained in January 2026 after Mansfield District Council used powers relating to properties associated with anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.
Cases such as this show that serious and persistent ASB can lead to significant enforcement action when the necessary evidence and legal threshold are met.
Community Voice matters
Residents should not assume that somebody else has already reported a problem.
If anti-social behaviour or suspected criminal activity is affecting your area, report it through the appropriate channels and keep your reference numbers.
Repeated, responsible reporting can help authorities understand the scale and pattern of a problem.
At Dignity Alliance, we believe residents should be able to raise genuine concerns and have them properly recorded and considered.
We can help residents organise information, prepare timelines, understand published reporting or complaints procedures and identify possible next steps.
We do not replace the council, police or legal professionals, and we cannot guarantee enforcement action or a particular outcome.
But we can help residents present their concerns in a clearer, more organised way.
